How the 8-week program runs

Two install phases, driven by how Salesforce 2GP managed packages work.

Phase 1: Sandbox (weeks 1 to 4)

Install the beta package in a sandbox. We iterate rapidly during this phase, which means beta package upgrades may wipe custom object data. Do not put production data in during Phase 1. This is a Salesforce platform constraint on beta 2GP packages, not a product choice.

Phase 2: Production (weeks 5 to 8)

We promote the package to managed-released. You install in your production org via a direct install URL. In-place upgrades work, real data is safe. This is where you validate against your real Connected Apps, Named Credentials, and scheduled jobs.

Phase 3: AppExchange (post-beta)

After the beta concludes, OrgGuard moves to private AppExchange listing once Security Review clears. Beta participants who convert to paid lock in founding cohort pricing for 24 months, below the standard $499/mo Pro rate. This phase happens on our timeline, not part of the 8-week commitment.

Beta Program FAQ

How many beta spots are available?

5 spots total. We're selecting for fit, not speed. If you're a strong match but all spots are filled, we'll add you to the waitlist for the next cohort.

How long is the beta program?

8 weeks of structured participation. That's enough time to run multiple scan cycles, evaluate findings, and give us meaningful feedback on workflow and coverage.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta. If you convert at the end of the program, you lock in founding cohort pricing for 24 months, below the standard $499/mo Pro rate.

Will my Salesforce data leave the org?

No. Your business data stays in your Salesforce tenant. OrgGuard runs entirely in-tenant, stores no secrets, and only the standard LMA license metadata (org ID, package version, tier, etc.) is synchronized via Salesforce's own infrastructure. It's a managed package that installs and uninstalls cleanly.

What happens at the end of the beta?

You decide whether to convert to a paid subscription at founding cohort pricing, locked for 24 months below the standard $499/mo Pro rate. No auto-enrollment, no pressure. We'll walk through what you saw during the program and let you decide.

What if we don't convert?

You can uninstall the package. No charge, no commitment, no exit interview. We'd appreciate a short debrief on what didn't work so we can improve, but it's entirely optional.

What Salesforce editions are supported?

Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions are fully supported. Essentials has limited functionality due to platform constraints.

Why can't I install in production during weeks 1 to 4?

Salesforce platform rule: beta 2GP managed packages can only install in sandbox or developer orgs, not production. We promote the package to managed-released at the start of Phase 2 (week 5), at which point production install becomes available via a direct URL. This is a Salesforce constraint, not an OrgGuard choice.

Will my custom object data persist between beta upgrades?

During Phase 1 (weeks 1 to 4), beta package upgrades may require uninstall and reinstall, which wipes any data stored in OrgGuard's custom objects. That's why we ask you not to load production data during Phase 1. Starting in Phase 2 (week 5), the package is managed-released and supports in-place upgrades, so your data is safe.

Where do I install during beta?

Phase 1 (weeks 1 to 4): sandbox only, by Salesforce platform design. Phase 2 (weeks 5 to 8): production install once the package is promoted to managed-released. We'll send you a direct install URL for production at the Phase 2 transition.

What if my company won't install pre-AppExchange packages?

Many enterprise and regulated buyers require AppExchange listing before installing third-party tools. If that's you, use the AppExchange launch notification form below. We'll reach out when OrgGuard is live on AppExchange (target: coming months).
